To The Residents of the City of Port Richey, Pasco County and of The State of Florida;
It is with a great deal of pride, respect and satisfaction that I and the Officers of the Port Richey Police Department represent the City of Port Richey to our residents and to our community. In recent years our citizens have voiced overwhelming support for our agency and members, and for our mission of Public Service, and it is my and our full intent to continue to strive to fulfill that obligation and continue to seek and earn the respect and trust of our citizens.
The past several years have presented a lot of change in our City and our Police Department, and our city continues to grow in leaps and bounds. Many new residential and business projects are in the planning and building stages, and our permanent resident population may very well double in the next 2 - 3 years.
Our agency consists of a staff of fourteen sworn personnel, a 24/7 Communications/ Dispatch division and a staff of several Administrative personnel. Our Communications division is the P.S.A.P. (Public Safety Answering Point) for the City of Port Richey, and includes "enhanced 911" service, in addition to "TTY" and "TDD" (Teletypewriter and Computerized Telecommunications Device) capability for our hearing and speech impaired citizens. In addition, our communications division becomes the "Emergency Operations Center" for the City of Port Richey in times of weather emergency and natural disaster, and is linked with all other Governmental agencies in Pasco County and the State of Florida.
Our agency and officers are dedicated to the Community Policing Concept, and we are committed to helping create a safe and healthful environment in which to live and conduct business in for all who live in and visit our community. With the support and direction of City Management we have committed ourselves to becoming a more professional Law Enforcement Agency in order to better serve our community and citizens.
Thank You to all our residents and business members of our community who continue to support us, and a special Thank You to the following persons for their leadership in helping create a mutually beneficial working atmosphere for providing the best possible service to our communities in our common Public Service mission: Sheriff Bob White, Pasco County Sheriff, Chief Martin Rickus, New Port Richey Police, Chief Ray Velboom, Dade City Police, and Chief David Shears, Zephyrhills Police, and the personnel from all these agencies.
For Emergency Assistance please dial “ 911 “. You may contact us at (727) 816-1919, or (727) 816-1900, for general information or to file a complaint. Our FAX number is (727) 816-1926. |
